Wal-Mart is going to start offering benefits to associates' same-sex domestic partners.
Gay news blog Towleroad first reported that the largest U.S. retailer would include domestic partners in its 2014 benefits plan.
Wal-Mart spokesperson Randy Hargrove confirmed the company's new policy to Business Insider.
The benefits extend to same or opposite-sex spouses or married partners, according to Hargrove.
